Among the 117 Indian athletes preparing to represent their country with pride in the Paris Olympics starting on July 26, 2024, are 24 members of the military forces. Two of these 24 athletes are women, making it the first time that female service athletes have competed in an Olympic Games. The other 22 participants are men, including prominent javelin thrower Subedar Neeraj Chopra.
2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Subedar Neeraj Chopra will be back to compete for gold at the Olympics in Paris after outstanding performances that saw him win gold at the 2023 Asian Games, 2023 World Athletics Championship, 2024 Diamond League, and 2024 Paavo Nurmi Games.
