1st Time In 92 Years: Another Stunning Performance in Tests for Yashasvi Jaiswal

Jaiswal became the first Indian batsman to reach a significant milestone, however he was removed for 10 in the second innings after failing to score significantly in the first. Jaiswal is the most prolific Indian batsman of all time with 1094 runs scored in just 10 games played. With Sunil Gavaskar’s record of 978 runs held by him, Jaiswal is the first Indian batsman to score more than 1000 runs in the first ten games.

Don Bradman currently owns the record overall, having scored 1446 runs in his first ten games.

Against Bangladesh, on the second day of the first Test on Friday, India reached 81 for three at stumps in the second innings, increasing their lead to 308 runs overall.

The stumps were drawn for the day with Shubman Gill (33 not out) and Rishabh Pant (12 not out) at the crease.

The hosts had a commanding lead of 227 runs after Bangladesh was bowled out for a pitiful 149 in their opening innings.

Bangladesh managed to survive just 47.1 overs in response to India’s 376 in the first innings of play.

The most productive bowler for India was pace leader Jasprit Bumrah (4/50).

India had started the day on 339/6 and had lost all four wickets for a total of only 37 runs.

While Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed for 86, Ravichandran Ashwin’s amazing innings came to an end at 113, adding 11 runs to his overnight total.

Hasan Mahmud finished with five wickets (5/83) for Bangladesh, and Taskin Ahmed contributed three scalps.
