2006: India is making their second appearance in the Under-19 World Cup final, however unlike the previous time, they lost to their bitter rivals, Pakistan, by a score of 38 runs in Colombo. The Indian team, led by skipper Ravikant Shukla, featured players such as Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, and Piyush Chawla. Pakistan chose to bat first and scored 109 all out before bowling India out for 71.

2012: This marked India’s third appearance in the Under-19 World Cup final. In Kuala Lumpur, the team humiliated South Africa with a 12-run loss (DSS method). Before limiting the Proteas to 103 for 8, the India team captained by Virat Kohli reached a total of 159 all out. The Indian team included notable players like Siddarth Kaul, Manish Pandey, Ravindra Jadeja, and Saurabh Tiwary.

2016: India has advanced to the Under-19 World Cup final each time they have attempted to qualify since this edition. Ishan Kishan led India received an invitation to bat first against West Indies in Mirpur. They scored 145, but their opponents managed to chase it down in 49.3 overs. The team’s star players included Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Sarfaraz Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan.

2018: India genuinely dominated this Mount Maunganui final over Australia. Australia chose to bat first and scored 216 runs in 38.5 overs before India surpassed them. Prithvi Shaw led the Indian team that included players such as Shivam Mavi and Shubman Gill.

2020: Bangladesh defeated India by three wickets (DLS method) in this low-scoring thriller in Potchefstroom. In the summit match, India was invited to bat first and was bowled out for 177 before Bangladesh managed to reach the amended target of 170 in 42.1 overs. Stars like Ravi Bishnoi, Tilak Varma, Dhruv Jurel, and Yashasvi Jaiswal played for the Indian team captained by Priyam Garg.

2022: This time around, India prevailed against England in the top match to earn a record-tying fifth championship. England chose to bat first and reached 189 all out before the team captained by Yash Dhull chased it down in 47.4 overs. Members of the team included Raj Bawa and Rajvardhan Hangargekar.
