Taylor missed the entire England series at home due to an injury sustained in a September ODI match against New Zealand.

The 16-person West Indies team has been announced for the upcoming T20I tri-series in South Africa, and veteran all-rounder Stafanie Taylor is among them. The series, which also includes India, will act as a warm-up for the T20 World Cup, which gets underway on February 10.

In September in North Sound, Taylor, 31, hurt himself while batting in an ODI match against New Zealand. She consequently missed the entirety of the home series against England, which the visitors won thanks in part to a string of West Indies’ poor batting efforts. West Indies have also added middle-order bat Britney Cooper, who last played for West Indies in September 2021, to help strengthen their ostensibly weaker arm.

“In the most recent series, our batting performance against a strong England bowling attack was subpar. We anticipate that several seasoned batters will return and be able to assist captain Hayley Matthews at the top of the order “Ann Browne-John, the lead selector, said.

“The team had admirable performances [during the four ODIs] in South Africa in early 2022, and we know that the entire team will be drawing on that experience as they take on the home team and India in this tri-Series and then possibly again at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa,” the statement reads.

Shamilia Connell and Shakera Selman, who overcame minor injuries to make the roster, will add expertise to the West Indies’ quick bowling lineup. It will air three times between January 19 and February 2.
