In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Ashwin stated that Pakistan will not be able to skip the ODI World Cup in India if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refuses to travel to their country for the Asia Cup.

“The Asia Cup was supposed to be held in Pakistan. However, India has stated that if it is held in Pakistan, we will not participate. If you want us to come, please change the location. But we’ve all seen this happen before, right? “When we say the Asia Cup will not come to their place, they will say they will not come to our place,” Ashwin said in a YouTube video.

The finger-spinner downplayed Pakistan’s “ODI World Cup threat,” implying that they cannot afford to miss the tournament.

“However, I do not believe that is possible,” Ashwin said of Pakistan’s claim that India will miss the 50-over World Cup if they do not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.

In terms of tournament hosts, Ashwin believes the tournament should be moved to Sri Lanka rather than the UAE, as many tournaments have recently taken place in the Middle East.
