Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has decided to part ways with her coach Park Tae Sang after working together for over two years. The South Korean coach expressed his disappointment over Sindhu’s recent performances and took responsibility for her “disappointing moves.”

Park Tae Sang, who was appointed as Sindhu’s coach in 2019, helped her win the World Championships title in the same year. However, since then, Sindhu has struggled to maintain her consistency on the court, with her latest performance at the All England Championships being a major setback for her.

Speaking about their decision to part ways, Sindhu said in a statement, “I am very thankful to Park for helping me improve my game over the last two years. However, after a lot of thought and discussion, we have mutually agreed to part ways. I wish him all the best for his future endeavors.”

Meanwhile, Park Tae Sang said that he feels responsible for Sindhu’s “disappointing moves” in recent tournaments. “I would like to apologize to all the fans who have been supporting PV Sindhu. I take full responsibility for her recent performances and I feel that I have not been able to help her play to her full potential,” he said.

Park Tae Sang further added that he respects Sindhu’s decision to move on and wished her success for the future. “I hope that she will continue to work hard and achieve greater heights in her career. I will always be cheering for her,” he said.

PV Sindhu, who is currently ranked seventh in the world, will now be looking for a new coach to help her prepare for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. The Olympic medalist has been training under the watchful eye of Korean coach Park Tae Sang in Hyderabad for the last two years.

The decision to part ways with Park Tae Sang comes at a crucial time for Sindhu, who will be hoping to win a medal at the Tokyo Olympics later this year. With the Games fast approaching, the Indian badminton star will be looking to get back to her best form as soon as possible.
