“Test matches finishing in 2.5 days,” Gautam Gambhir says bluntly about the pitch debate.

The pitches being used in the current series between India and Australia’s cricket squad are being questioned by many former cricketers.

The surfaces used in the first three Border Gavaskar Trophy games prevented both the Australian and Indian cricket teams’ batters from scoring runs. Indian spinners dominated the action in the first two test matches, while Australian spinners dominated the third encounter. The reality that all three games ended up lasting just three days was disappointing to the fans. Everyone was commenting on the nature of the pitches used in the game. In the midst of all this discussion, former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir conceded that it’s not ideal to have a test match conclude after three or even just 2.5 days.

Speaking on Sports Today, Gambhir said, “Yes, I think playing on turning tracks is great, but I won’t appreciate Test matches lasting 2.5 days.” Like the one in the New Zealand vs. England Test, we want to see close endings. It’s okay if an exam is extended to the fourth or fifth day. Yet 2.5 days is too little time.
After this, he was asked whether the ability of players to play spin in this generation has dipped from earlier generations, and in response, he said, “I don’t think so.”

They wouldn’t have participated in 100 exams if they weren’t. To hit that target, you must excel at both fast bowling and spin. The DRS now plays a significant part, which is one change. You frequently had to alter your approach when there was no DRS or LBW on the front foot. Individuals don’t broach the subject too frequently.
