Jasprit Bumrah has undergone surgery in New Zealand, and he is going to miss the entire 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.
After undergoing back surgery in New Zealand, Indian fast bowler Bumrah is going to miss the coming edition of the Indian Premier League. He was having persistent back issues, which caused him to miss almost six months of international cricket. He missed the Asia Cup, followed by the T20 World Cup in Australia last year. The last time he played for Team India was in September 2022. He is going to miss the entire season of the Indian Premier League, which is scheduled to be held in April of this year. After completing his surgery, Bumrah is hoping to make a comeback in the team before the ODI World Cup, which is going to be held later this year.
According to a news agency, PTI’s Bumrah is going to be unavailable for the next 6 months; hence, he is going to marshal the entire IPL and Asia Cup 2023 editions. The surgery was successfully conducted by an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Rowan Schouten. Bumrah has played 30 test matches, 72 ODIs, and 60 T20 internationals for India. He made his international debut against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2016.
