By a score of 12 runs, Chennai Super Kings beat Lucknow Super Giants
MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings CSK defeated the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by a score of 218 runs after their captain KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bowl first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Chepauk on Monday.
When CSK batting first, they got off to a great start thanks to outstanding innings from Devon Conway of New Zealand and the talented Ruturaj Gaikwad. This gave CSK the chance to record a significant total. Gaikwad made batting appear simple while playing with the LSG spinners. His departure slowed things down, but Rayudu and Dhoni’s late contributions propelled CSK to 217/7 in 20 overs.
LSG’s response saw a flying start thanks to KL Rahul and Kayel Mayers. The West Indian scored 50 runs off just 21 deliveries to put Lucknow on course to reach the target. LSG, on the other hand, continued dropping wickets at regular intervals, which ultimately proved to be their downfall. As Chennai Super Kings beat Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs, Moeen Ali excelled with the ball, taking four wickets.
