Before the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, KL Rahul is in a tough situation.
The Kyle Mayers vs. Quinton de Kock quandary is putting the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants in a risky spot before their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Asander Mayers has performed really well in both the matches by scoring half centuries against the Delhi Capitals and the Chennai Super Kings. Hence, he has grabbed his chances with both hands. On the other side, De Kock is also in good form in T20Is, as he scored a century in 43 balls against the West Indies cricket team.
It is not only about the runs scored by Mayers but also his brilliant strike rate at which he has scored runs. Against Delhi Capitals, he has scored 73 runs in only 38 balls with a strike rate of 192.11, whereas against Chennai Super Kings, he has scored 53 runs in only 22 balls with a strike rate of 240.
On the other side, if we talk about De Kock, then the wicketkeeper and batsman is the second-highest scorer of LSG in the past year as he scored 447 runs in 15 games. He is an aggressive batsman at the top and also provides a left-handed option to LSG. With Pooran and Wood also performing well, Rahul has the option to only drop Marcus Stoinis to accommodate De Kock at the top, as he scored only 12 and 21 runs against DC and CSK, respectively.
