KL Rahul has stated that he will have surgery on his right thigh and has confirmed that he will miss the World Test Championship final.
“After careful consideration and consultation with the medical team, it has been determined that I will be undergoing thigh surgery soon.” In the coming weeks, I’ll be concentrating on my rehabilitation and recovery. “It’s a difficult decision to make, but I know it’s the right one to ensure a full recovery,” Rahul captioned his post.
“It hurts me deeply as team captain not to be present during this critical period.” But I’m convinced that the boys will rise to the occasion and deliver their best performance yet. I’ll be cheering for them from the sidelines with you all, watching every game. @lucknowsupergiants
“I’m devastated that I won’t be at the Oval with Team India next month.” I’ll do all in my power to return to the blue and serve my country. That has always been my main priority and focus. @indiancricketteam
“I want to thank each and every one of you – my fans, who gave me the strength to get back up, the LSG management, and the LSG players.”
Thank you to BCCI for their promptness, and to my teammates for their constant support at this tough time.
“Your messages and encouragement mean a lot to me and inspire me to come back stronger and fitter than ever before.” Meanwhile, I will keep you all updated on my progress and hope to be back on the pitch as soon as possible. The previous several days have been really difficult, but I am determined to triumph. Injuries are never easy, but as always, I’ll give it my all. Thank you for your encouragement and kind wishes.”
