Andre Russell and Rinku Singh were the standout performers as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Punjab Kings by 5 wickets in a last-ball thriller on Monday at Eden Gardens. Russell hit 42 not out off 23 balls, while Rinku hit 21 not out off 10 balls, including the match-winning boundary. Shikhar Dhawan’s half-century earlier in the innings, followed by cameos from Harpreet Brar and Shahrukh Khan, helped Punjab Kings to 179 for 7 in 20 overs. Dhawan scored 57 runs off 47 balls, Shahrukh hit 21 off 8 balls, and Brar scored 17 off 9. KKR’s bowlers of choice were Varun Chakravarthy (3 for 26) and Harshit Rana (2 for 33).
