Mohammed Siraj finished with numbers of 4/108, and Australia was all out for 469.
India got four wickets, but Australia scored 95 runs to surpass the 400-run milestone. While Travis Head and Steve Smith dealt a lot of punches to Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami early in the day, the Indians fought back strong with the wickets and will be trying to ensure that the Australian tail doesn’t wag after lunch. Head and Smith added 285 runs off 398 balls for the fourth wicket before the former went to Siraj for 163 off 174 balls.
Cameron Green was the next victim, stealing slips from Shami. Smith seemed unbeatable at this moment, having strolled to his 31st Test century. However, the former Australia skipper was bowled out for 121 off 268 balls by Shardul Thakur. Mitchell Starc was then run out owing to some great fielding by Axar Patel, who came on as a replacement fielder. Alex Carey then hit 48 from 69 balls to push Australia over the 450-run barrier. After being removed by Ravindra Jadeja, Siraj cleaned up the tail and finished with a four-wicket haul. Australia were all out for 469.
