Rahane silenced all of his critics in style on Friday after scoring 89 runs in the finals of the World Test Championship against Australia.
A lot of questions were raised about the inclusion of Rahane in the WTC Finals squad. For a player who has spent around 18 months away from the world of cricket, his selection shocked many. Some of the people start blaming the selectors for including him in the team after seeing his performance in the IPL 2023. But Rahane silenced all of his critics in style on Friday as he scored 89 runs in the WTC Finals against Australia at The Oval. After his amazing performance, he gave credit to the Chennai Super Kings in a million-dollar statement.
Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh asked him whether there was any involvement of his IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings, in that knocks. In response, Rahane said, “Of course. I really enjoyed my stay at CSK.”
Later on, former Head Coach of the India Cricket Team Ravi Shastri also gave credit to CSK for his improved comeback, saying that “Rahane played domestic cricket and didn’t give up. He waited for his opportunity, and I think, in many ways, this IPL has been a sort of liberation for him. It’s allowed him to come out of his comfort zone and play in the manner in which he has been playing now, freely. There are no cobwebs in the mind; all those have been cleared. He comes out and plays his natural game.”
