The Ireland series follows India’s all-format tour to the West Indies, which concluded in July and August.
Cricket Ireland has agreed that India will play a three-match T20I series against Ireland later this year, the ICC announced on Tuesday. The series details were agreed on Tuesday 27 June, with India poised to return to Ireland after an enjoyable tour in 2022. Between August 18 and 23, all three matches will be hosted in Malahide, on the suburbs of Dublin. The series follows India’s all-format tour to the West Indies, which concluded in July and August.
Warren Deutrom, Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland, was reported by the ICC as saying, “We are happy to welcome India Men back to Ireland for the second time in 12 months.
Having a three-match series this year should allow even more fans to take in what is usually a special occasion, as we saw two sold-out matches in 2022.
“Our sincere thanks to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), first for continuing to include Ireland in the busy schedule of the Indian team, and also for working with us to ensure as fan-friendly a schedule as possible — having matches on a Friday and Sunday will hopefully maximise the availability of fans,” he said.
