BCCI president Roger Binny and vice-president Rajeev Shukla are said to have accepted the Pakistan Cricket Board’s offer and would be in Lahore on September 4-7 to see a few of Asia Cup games.

The BCCI’s president, Roger Binny, and vice-president, Rajeev Shukla, have accepted the Pakistan Cricket Board’s invitation to attend a few of Asia Cup games in Lahore from September 4-7. The PCB sent the invitation to all BCCI officers, and it is understood that the president and vice-president have received Indian board approval to accept the invitation. Pakistan will play Nepal in the first match of the regional event on August 30 in Multan, followed by four games in Sri Lanka, including the highly anticipated Pakistan-India match.

“Binny, Shukla, and secretary Jay Shah will be in Sri Lanka on September 2 for the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match in Pallekele (Kandy). On September 3, the trio will return to India, after which the BCCI president and vice-president will travel over the border to Lahore, a source familiar with the situation informed PTI under the condition of anonymity.

In fact, the PCB has invited both Binny and Shukla, together with their respective spouses, to a formal dinner on September 4 at the Governor House in Lahore.

According to reports, two influential members of the BCCI will observe Pakistan’s first Super Four match on September 6 as well as the September 5 match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

It should be noted that top BCCI administrator and Rajya Sabha member for the Congress, Shukla, was also a member of the Indian cricket squad in 2004, under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly, when they won a historic series.
