Before the 2023 Asia Cup, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja tested their skills against spin bowling.
The Indian cricket team is working assiduously in the training camp in Alur, Karnataka, in preparation for the Asia Cup 2023, which is just around the horizon. For a match simulation over the past few days, batters were split into pairs. The duo of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer came after Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. In a video that has gone popular on social media, Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were both batting as they were both subjected to spin bowling. Both players were trying to play reasonable shots, and it was presumably part of a simulation of a match situation.
After being selected for the Asia Cup 2023, there were various concerns over KL Rahul’s fitness after chief selector Ajit Agarkar disclosed to the public that he had a little ache.
After a protracted injury struggle, the batter’s call-up for the continental competition was significant, but the news, combined with Sanju Samson’s participation as a backup, did not allay the batter’s concerns. The current training camp in Alur, Karnataka, did offer some encouraging news for cricket fans, as Rahul practised wicket-keeping while receiving assistance from the captain Rohit Sharma.
As he and Suryakumar Yadav were paired at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, in a match simulation, he also practised his batting. In the practise, India used predetermined pairs, starting with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, then moving up to No. 4 with Virat Kohli and the returning Shreyas Iyer.
On September 2, India plays Pakistan in their opening Asia up 2023 match.
