Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan fired in unison to win the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol team event on Wednesday, as Indian shooters dominated proceedings at the Asian Games here. Manu, Esha, and Rhythm finished with a total of 1759 points to take the top spot on the podium and help the country win its fourth gold medal in the ongoing sporting spectacle. Manu also won qualification after finishing the last rapid-fire series with 98 points.
The Chinese took silver with a total score of 1756, while South Korean shooters finished third with a total score of 1742.
While Kaushik was unable to make the final, Samra shot 100 in two sets for a total of 397 after kneeling and prone positions.
Samra and Chouksey performed admirably in all three series, particularly in the standing component, to place in the top eight and qualify for the individual final.
“I’m happy for my teammates and that we got a silver in the team competition,” Kaushik stated after the tournament. Right now, I’m simply focused on the good.
