After winning silver in the canoe VL2 category on Monday, Prachi earned gold in the KL2 event, earning her second medal of the Games. After that, Deepthi won gold in the 400-meter women’s T20 division race, setting an Asian and Games record with a time of 56.69 seconds. Men’s T64 400m competitor Ajay Kumar and women’s T12 100m competitor Simran Sharma earned silver medals, while Manish Kaurav, Prachi’s husband, won bronze in the men’s KL3 canoe, men’s VL2 canoe, and women’s F32/51 club throw competitor Ekta Bhayan.

India’s total now stands at 24, with seven medals (two gold, eight silver, and eight bronze) won so far on the second day.

On the opening day of competition, top shooter Avani Lekhara led India to an incredible 17 medals, including six gold.

In addition to Avani (championing in the women’s R2 10m air rifle standing SH1), the other gold winners on Monday included men’s F51 club throw Pranav Soorma, men’s T63 high jump Shailesh Kumar, men’s T47 high jump Nishad Kumar, men’s T11 5000m Ankur Dhama, and men’s T64 high jump Praveen Kumar.
