Glenn Maxwell’s incredible innings of 201 not out helped the Australian cricket team chase down the target of 292 runs with 19 balls remaining.
Australia’s cricket team defeated Afghanistan by three wickets on Tuesday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to become the third side, after South Africa and India, to advance to the semifinals of the ongoing ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.
With 19 balls remaining, Team Australia managed to surpass the Afghanistan Cricket Team’s 292 run goal. Glenn Maxwell’s outstanding 201 not out performance is largely responsible for this victory.
Australia crossed the finish line thanks to an undefeated eighth-wicket stand of 202 runs between Maxwell (91 for 7) and Captain Pat Cummins (not out).
Team Australia won six of its eight games to increase its lead to 12 points. It is just behind South Africa because to their lower net run rate, ranking third on the points standings. Having won eight of the previous nine games, India is leading the standings.
