Following the Cricket World Cup, Babar Azam is reportedly planning to resign as captain.

In light of Pakistan’s impending elimination from the Cricket World Cup semi-finals, skipper Babar Azam is allegedly considering resigning from his position as team captain. There are rumours circulating that Babar will probably leave his position following the World Cup of cricket. Babar and former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja were spotted chatting at Eden Gardens in Kolkata ahead of Pakistan’s crucial match against England on Saturday.

Speaking to a local news station, Ramiz provided some insight into his chat with Babar, although he withheld much more information.

During their conversation, the 61-year-old said that Babar “seemed a bit off and looked depressed.”

“Babar appeared to be quite ill and despondent. It made me feel awful. According to Cricket Pakistan, Ramiz said, “The discussion about his captaincy was private, and I don’t want to make it public.”

Some of Babar’s close advisors have recommended him to resign from leadership in all three formats, according to a report published on Friday by Pakistan’s Geo News. Babar’s choice to remain captain will be based on the advice he receives from the public.
