At this World Cup, Ravindra Jadeja is currently India’s top wicket-taker in a single campaign.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja passed legendary spinner Anil Kumble to take the most wickets for India in a single World Cup edition, but Kuldeep Yadav is threatening to break the mark as well. In order to maintain their unbeaten streak, India defeated the Netherlands in their final group-stage encounter. Jadeja’s total of 16 wickets in the World Cup 2023 came from his two wickets against the Dutch team.

For nearly 27 years, Kumble was the record holder after taking 15 wickets in a single World Cup tournament in 1996. In India’s World Cup 2011 victory, Yuvraj Singh equaled his total and emerged as the joint top wicket-taker, dismissing 15 batters.

Kuldeep Yadav, who has 14 wickets under his belt, has the potential to finish the tournament as India’s top spinner.
During India’s 160-run triumph over the Dutch squad, the Chinaman spinner was also involved in taking wickets. The Men in Blue chose to bat first after winning the toss and demonstrating their dominance.
Half-centuries from captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill established the groundwork for a total of 410/4, before Shreyas Iyer (128*) and KL Rahul’s (102) tonnes put the Dutch bowling lineup at their wits’ end.

With a 160-run victory, the Indian squad effectively protected their total. As the great bowlers worked their magic to finish the league stage on a strong note, Rohit and Kohli stepped up to take one wicket apiece in the bowling department.

After taking two wickets at a cost of just 29 runs, Mohammed Siraj spearheaded India’s bowling attack. The Indian bowling attack was too much for the Netherlands batters to handle as they attempted to win the game.

In an attempt to overturn the previous outcome and get to the final, India will now take on New Zealand in a replay of the 2019 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.
