From 2011 until 2017, Gambhir was a part of KKR, where he guided the team to two titles in 2012 and 2014, as well as a runner-up position in the Champions League T20 in 2014.
Gautam Gambhir has returned to the Kolkata Knight Riders as a “Mentor” ahead of the Indian Premier League season 2024, the two-time champion revealed on Wednesday.
Former Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gambhir has joined forces with head coach Chandrakant Pandit.
“Gautam has always been part of the family and here is our Captain returning back home in a different incarnation as a “Mentor,” according to KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan. We all look forward to Chandu Sir and Gautam imparting the never-say-die spirit and sportsmanship they stand for, as well as doing magic with Team KKR. He was greatly missed.
