Mumbai Indians (MI) traded all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction in 2024.
MI Cameron Green, an all-rounder, has been moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Green, who was purchased at auction for a record 17.5 crore last December, appeared in 16 matches. The Australian batsman had an outstanding start to the IPL, scoring an undefeated century and two half-centuries while also collecting six wickets. The trade was completed in accordance with the current player fee.
This action comes on the heels of the Mumbai Indians’ successful completion of another high-profile all-cash deal to acquire all-rounder Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans.
Green’s quickfire 26-ball 44 in the historic chase against Rajasthan Royals and his century in the last league game to propel MI into the playoffs will go down as his most memorable IPL performances for MI.
The Mumbai Indians declared in an official statement, “With Hardik Pandya drafted in (₹15 INR) and Green released (₹17.5 cr INR), the purse with Mumbai Indians going into the IPL 2024 Auction of is now 17.75cr INR.”
Among the players released by RCB ahead of the IPL next year are Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, Indian pacer Harshal Patel, and spinner Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka.
Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, Wayne Parnell, an all-rounder from South Africa, David Willey of England, Sonu Yadav, Avinash Singh, Siddharth Kaul, and Kedar Jadhav of India are among the other players that were freed.
In exchange for all-rounder Mayank Dagar, RCB sent their all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
