After missing the World Cup due to injury, Pakistan’s Naseem Shah has entered the ‘final stage’ of his rehabilitation

The Pakistan Cricket Board said in a press release late on Wednesday that player Naseem Shah, who was sidelined by a shoulder injury during the recently completed Cricket World Cup in India, has started the “final stage” of his rehabilitation.

At the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, the fast bowler is presently receiving rehabilitation under the supervision of a physician, a physiotherapist, and a strength and conditioning coach.

According to PCB, Naseem has been practicing bowling and doing some light workouts in the gym. According to the board’s press statement, he will begin batting on Thursday.

After suffering a shoulder injury in September at the Asia Cup, the young pacer had to travel to the United Kingdom for surgery. when a result, he was unable to see Pakistan’s disastrous performance when they were eliminated from the World Cup in India at the group round.

When Naseem was sixteen, he played his first-ever Pakistani match in Brisbane versus Australia. He quickly made an impression: in his second match, against Sri Lanka in Karachi, he set a record by becoming the youngest fast bowler in Test history to take five wickets.

When Naseem played Bangladesh in his third Test, he broke still another record: he became the youngest player to score a hat-trick in a Test match.

The recent Cricket World Cup saw a blow to Pakistan’s team because of his absence. Along with Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, he was a key component of the fast-bowling troika that was envisioned by a Pakistani think tank.

He has taken a significant amount of time off from the sport due to lengthy layoffs brought on by injuries. As of right now, he has participated in 17 Tests (51 wickets), 14 ODIs (32) and 19 T20Is (15).
