At St George’s Park, Gqeberha, the second one-day international (ODI) of the three-match series between South Africa (SA) and India (IND) is about to take place.
The Indian team won the series opener at Wanderers Stadium with a convincing eight-wicket victory over the Proteas in a match that was largely one-sided. The Proteas were only able to muster 116 runs in their opening innings thanks to the superb bowling of the Indians.
Arshdeep Singh’s incredible five-wicket haul and Avesh Khan’s four-wicket haul highlighted this achievement. The South African team will try to mount a comeback in the hopes of winning the next game to preserve the three-match series, while the Indian side will try to maintain their winning momentum and seal the series.

Pitch Report: It is common for St George’s Park to have a well-balanced pitch, thus early in the game, fast bowlers should expect some help. It should become easier for batters to score runs on this surface, though, as the game goes on. As the innings wears on, spinners can start to perform better. A total of at least 320 runs scored will be the goal for the team batting first.
