For the next five years, the Indian Premier League (IPL) will continue to be sponsored by the Tata Group
The Tata Group has retained title sponsorship rights for the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the next five years, according to news sources. Tata will continue to be the main T20 event’s headline sponsor until 2028 under the new agreement. Tata sealed the sale by matching Aditya Birla’s price using its Right to Match (RTM) card. The Tata Group, one of India’s greatest corporations, had previously replaced Chinese smartphone firm Vivo as the IPL’s title sponsor. The contract was for two years, from 2022 to 2023.
Vivo had signed a Rs 2200 crore deal for IPL title sponsorship rights from 2018 to 2022, however following the 2020 Galwan Valley military clash between Indian and Chinese Army forces, the company took a year off, with Dream11 taking its place in the IPL.
However, Vivo returned as IPL title sponsor in 2021, despite suspicion that the firm was attempting to sell the rights to a qualified buyer, and the BCCI accepted the transaction.
