India (IND) will face England (ENG) in the third Test of their tour of India, which begins on February 15 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The series is evenly poised between the two sides, with India winning the last game to tie the series 1-1. They begin the contest as favourites as well.

Both teams faced off in the second match of the series, with India winning the toss and electing to bat first. Jaiswal was spectacular in the first innings, as the lone batsman from one side, holding down the fort as he achieved his first double-century and powered the team to a total of 396 runs. The English openers started brilliantly, looking attacking. Zak Crawley played an excellent knock, but they were bowled out for 253 with a 143-run deficit.

India started energetically in the third innings but lost both of their openers cheaply. However, it was number three Shubhman Gill who stole the show with the bat this time around, smashing a ton after long, and the team managed to reach a total of 255, setting England a goal of 399 runs. Crawley was fantastic again from the start and appeared dangerous. Other batters got starts around him, but none of them converted, leaving them bowled out for 292 and losing by 106 runs.

England tour of India 2024, 3rd Test Match, India vs England

Venue: Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium

Date & Time: Thursday, Feb 15-Feb 19, 09:30 AM

Pitch Report: The Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium provides a pitch that is more conducive to bowling. Spinners, as usual, would dominate the game as it progressed. Batters would prefer to score the most in the initial innings because scoring becomes more difficult later on. Teams like to bat first here after winning the toss, with an average first innings score of 295.
