In the WPL, the Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore named Sayali Satghare and Shradda Pokharkar as replacements, respectively.

The most expensive uncapped Indian player in the Women’s Premier League auction in December was Kashvee Gautam, who has been ruled out of the upcoming second edition owing to an injury. The Gujarat Giants, who had bought Kashvee for INR 2 crore, have named Sayali Sathgare as a replacement at a reserve price of INR 10 lakhs.
The all-rounder of India, Kanika Ahuja, is also ruled out of the WPL 2024 owing to an injury. The Royal Challengers Bangalore have named Shradda Pokharkar, Maharashtra’s left-arm fast bowler, as a replacement. She has been signed at a reserve price of INR 10 lakh.
During the U23 Women’s Championship, Gautam made a lot of headlines after being an integral part of India’s Emerging Asia Cup victory. At the auction, the Gujarat Giants started the bidding war before Royal Challengers Bangalore wanted her services, driving the price up within seconds. In the span of the next few seconds, her price went up from INR 10 lakhs to over 50 lakhs, which made the world turn their attention to the pacer. She was eventually sold for $2 million, with UP Warriorz fighting tooth and nail to get her on board.
Meanwhile, Ahuja made her debut at the Asian Games in Hangzhou but couldn’t contribute much with the bat. But she is praised as a wonderful prospect for the future after her performance in the Emerging Asia Cup that India won. Her replacement, Shradda Pokharkar, was already a part of the RCB camp as a net bowler, and the franchise found it easy to onboard her services.
