Ravindra Jadeja made a unique gesture for his wife Rivaba after winning the Player of the Match award in India’s 434-run triumph over England.
Ravindra Jadeja, an all-rounder for India, became embroiled in a family feud after his father criticized the cricketer’s wife during an interview. Jadeja was quick to condemn the ‘dubious’ interview, but declined to go into detail. However, after earning the Player of the Match award in India’s Rajkot Test triumph against England, Jadeja dedicated the honour to his wife Rivaba. In a video published by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jadeja talked about how hard his wife has worked behind the scenes to assist him reach new heights on the field.
“It’s an incredible feeling to take five wickets in the second innings. And to have a hundred and a five-wicket haul in the same Test is remarkable,” Jadeja remarked in a video.
“The information presented in the doubtful interview with Divya Bhaskar is useless and incorrect. I dispute those one-sided comments. The attempt to destroy my wife’s image is improper and unacceptable. I, too, have a lot to say, but it is best if I do not divulge anything in public,” Jadeja remarked.
India secured their biggest-ever win in the longest format (in terms of runs) by defeating England by 434 runs to grab a 2-1 series lead.
