Social media rumours propagated by ‘false accounts’ over the IPL selection have been criticized by Sarfaraz Khan’s father.
Naushad Khan, the father of Indian cricket player Sarfaraz Khan, had to issue a caution to cricket enthusiasts when ‘false accounts’ posing as him started to appear on social media and began requesting money from people under the guise of being selected as state teams, cricket academies, and IPL net bowlers. Sarfarz’s father demonstrated in a video how multiple phony social media profiles have appeared on various networks, attempting to get prospective cricket players to part with money in order to be selected for various competitions. Naushad encouraged aspiring cricket players to put their talent and diligence ahead of those who operate scams.
Many people have created fake Facebook and Instagram profiles using my name. Those accounts are requesting money from children under the guise of helping them get selected for state or IPL net bowling teams.
“I ask that you trust your own diligence and not believe them. I don’t coach anyplace, nor am I connected to any IPL team. Please don’t take them seriously. I sincerely appreciate that,” he said.
As Sarfaraz made his debut in the third Test match against England in Rajkot, Naushad was at his side.
