Following an 85-run victory over DC

Opener Sunil Narine scored 85 runs from just 39 balls at a 217.95 strike rate while playing for the Kolkata-based team.

Indian Premier League (IPL) bowler Sunil Narine of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) stated that batting is the most important aspect of the game after hitting 85 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC). As the opening batsman for the Kolkata-based team, Narine struck for 85 runs at a 217.95 strike rate off of just 39 balls. The Caribbean all-rounder scored seven sixes and seven fours while he was on the boundary. Narine expressed his happiness to have contributed with the bat during the post-game presentation. But the thirty-five-year-old continued, saying he loves to bowl.

When questioned about starting for KKR with Philip Salt, he said that the English batter relieves his partner of some of the load.

It is satisfying to contribute with the bat because batting is the main skill in cricket, but I also enjoy bowling. We had enough batters, therefore the opening was not necessary at that point (on batting down the order against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders). Ultimately, everything boils down to what the team needs. It feels good to bat alongside Salt because he relieves some of the load off of me. We bowled well and hit the mark on a good track like that, so tonight was a great team effort from us, Narine remarked.

KKR’s goal of 273 proved to be too much for DC, who succumbed in to pressure and lost by 106 runs. That is the match summary.

Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora, the speed duo, each took two wickets to cut DC to 33/4 during the powerplay.

With every delivery, DC’s strategy to pursue the enormous total was thwarted by these early knocks.

Ultimately, they lost by 106 runs as the needed rate proved to be too much.
