The squad of 15 players for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean has been announced by the Cricket Association of Nepal.

Rohit Paudel leads a young Nepal team at the T20 World Cup, which starts on June 4 against the Netherlands in Texas.

There were no major shocks in the selection, with players rewarded for their performances in the ACC Premier Cup in Oman and against a West Indies A team now on tour in Kirtipur.

Paudel has led the assault with the bat, scoring a century against the tourists in the opener of the five-game series. Dipendra Singh Airee, fresh from his world record-equalling heroics of hitting six sixes in an over against Qatar in April, will float in the side’s batting order, among the likes of Kushal Bhurtel.

Gulshan Jha, who also played in the U19 World Cup earlier this year, joins a number of other young players in the squad, including 19-year-old Pratis GC, who retains his berth in the senior team.

Sompal Kami is the only player from Nepal’s inaugural 2014 campaign to make the 2024 squad, with cult icon Karan KC serving as the group’s senior statesman.

Left-arm orthodox spinner Lalit Rajbanshi will spearhead Nepal’s spin attack.
