In the IPL 2024 matchup vs RR, Nitish Kumar Reddy struck an undefeated 76* in 42 balls, including three fours and eight sixes.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, an all-rounder for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), became the first player from his team to reach 100 sixes in an Indian Premier League (IPL) innings on Thursday. In Hyderabad, during his team’s match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Nitish achieved this accomplishment. With three fours and eight sixes in 42 balls, the all-round player amassed an undefeated 76*. His runs were made at a 180.95 strike percentage. The SRH batter’s IPL innings record for most sixes hit is this one. Eight sixes in a knock of 126* against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2017 Indian Premier League, eighteen sixes in a knock of 83 against the Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 Indian Premier League, eighteen sixes in a knock of 63 against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2024 Indian Premier League, and eighteen sixes in a knock of 102 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2024 Indian Premier League are tied with him.

This season, Nitish has amassed 219 runs at an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 154.22 in seven games and six innings, including two half-centuries. 76* is his greatest score. In addition, he has three wickets. In his second year with the Orange Army, this pace-bowling batting all-round player for SRH has shown promise this season. The previous season, he bowled a few overs in just two games.

After winning the toss, SRH decided to bat first in the match. Following a sluggish beginning, all-rounder Nitish Reddy and opener Travis Head (58 in 44 balls, six fours, and three sixes) gave the innings some much-needed impetus with a 96-run stand at the third wicket.

Heinrich Klaasen, who recovered from a short slump to make an unbeaten 42 in 19 balls with three fours and three sixes to lead SRH to 201/3 in their 20 overs, provided excellent support for Nitish, who finished the innings with an unbeaten 76* in 42 balls with three fours and eight sixes.
RR lost wickets to Avesh Khan (2/39) and Sandeep Sharma (1/31).
RR lost two fast wickets for just one run in the run chase. With a third-wicket partnership of 133 runs, young players Yashasvi Jaiswal (67 in 40 balls, with seven fours and two sixes) and Riyan Parag (77 in 49 balls, with eight fours and four sixes) drew RR into the game.

Rovman Powell (27 in 15 balls, 3 fours, 6 sixes) nearly won it for his side in the closing stages, but he was leg before wicket on the final ball with two runs required. SRH won by a single run in the final ball.

SRH’s preferred bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/41) was named “Player of the Match.” T Natrajan and captain Pat Cummins each took two wickets.

With 16 points, which comes from eight wins and two losses, RR is in first place. With six victories, four losses, and a total of 12 points, SRH is ranked fourth.
