‘Ravindra Jadeja’: Irfan Pathan’s Strong Warning
For the Chennai Super Kings and their new skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad in the present IPL 2024, it has been an unpredictable ride.
In the current IPL2024 season, the Chennai Super Kings and their new skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad have had an unpredictable ride. Prior to playing Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a pivotal match on Saturday, which they lost, CSK had won seven of their previous thirteen games. After losing, CSK was eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoffs, while RCB advanced. Ruturaj, the captain of CSK, has performed admirably at the bat this season, but former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan offered some advise regarding his leadership abilities. According to Pathan, Ruturaj may find himself in a same predicament to that of Ravindra Jadeja, who lost his captaincy in 2022 due to a dismal performance.
“CSK has the history of being the squad that prevails in pivotal situations. However, they are currently dealing with a lot of problems. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, their new captain, is no longer in charge because to injuries. He is not the captain, even if you may have seen him periodically setting the field. As you may recall, things didn’t work out well when [Ravindra] Jadeja commanded the side; this might happen once more. “CSK supporters will be hoping that they overcome these obstacles and secure the vital two points,” he stated on Star Sports.
Pathan added his voice to the discussion of MS Dhoni’s potential retirement from the IPL.
Pathan stated, “It might be Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s final game, or it might not be.”
Prior to the CSK vs. RCB game, Pathan expressed his opinion that the team led by Faf Du Plessis has a minor advantage. In the end, RCB prevailed over the opposition by 27 runs.
Nothing in life is simple. For both teams, it won’t be simple. The momentum is with RCB, and it’s strong. Additionally, if they triumph, there is no side that is more dangerous than the one that is moving quickly,” he said.
