Team India’s triumph in the T20 World Cup 2024 was greatly aided by Jasprit Bumrah.

The triumph of Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024 was greatly aided by Jasprit Bumrah. The right-arm pacer finished second on the list of top wicket-takers, but he was so effective with the ball that he was awarded Player of the Tournament. Bumrah achieved an incredible economy of 4.17 after taking 15 wickets in 8 games. The T20I careers of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja were ended after the match. Before anyone might worry that Bumrah might be considering retiring from the format as well, he made it plain that he is not thinking about such things.

“Retirement is far off (far away). I’ve only recently begun. I’m thrilled with my performance. “Hopefully, it is a distant memory now,” Bumrah remarked on Thursday at Wankhede Stadium during Team India’s felicitation ceremony.

When the Indian team returned with the T20 World Cup title on Thursday, the crowd welcomed them with great enthusiasm. Fans flocked to Mumbai and New Delhi in record numbers to celebrate with the players.

“It feels incredible. In my life, this site holds great significance. I arrived as an U19 child. What I have witnessed today in the streets, among the people, and on the ground. That is unlike anything I have ever seen. It’s unbelievable to feel like this and feel the way we did after the game. I have memories with them that I will always cherish,” Bumrah continued.

Along with complimenting his group, Bumrah also mentioned the goals the team’s older players had set.”I’ll also consider myself to be a young man. Because of our diversity, expertise, and confidence, every player is able to take the game by storm. That’s all that qualifies as special. And like Virat and Rohit just stated, our only goal is to advance Indian cricket, do everything in our power to support the squad, and elevate the nation’s standing. We have never before won the World Cup. This increases our motivation,” he continued.
