Team India to Receive Rs.125 Crore Award from BCCI

For the Indian cricket team that won the T20 World Cup in 2024, the BCCI has announced a monetary incentive of Rs. 125 crore.

Team India’s successful T20 World Cup 2024 campaign earned Rohit Sharma’s team a nice award of Rs. 125 crore. 42 persons traveled to the United States and the West Indies for the global cricket event, including 15 first-team players, support staff, and reserves. The Rs. 125 crore prize money announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would be awarded not just to players but also to support personnel, reserves, and others who made up the 42-member contingent. However, the award money distribution differs by job.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the 15 members of India’s team, even those who did not play a single game, will receive Rs. 5 crore. Even head coach Rahul Dravid will receive Rs. 5 crore from the pool.

Dravid’s coaching crew, which includes batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, are all paid Rs. 2.5 crore apiece. The selection committee members, including chief Ajit Agarkar, will each receive Rs. 1 crore.

The three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two masseurs, and the strength and conditioning coach will all receive Rs 2 crore.

“Players and support staff have been informed about the amount of prize money they will be receiving from the BCCI and we have asked everyone to submit an invoice,” a person familiar with the matter told the newspaper.

In addition to the 15-member T20 World Cup squad, the BCCI selection committee has nominated four reserve players. Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed were among them. They will also receive rewards of INR 1 crore apiece.

Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, has previously stated: “The Rs 125 crore will cover the players, support staff, coaches, and selectors as well.” Everyone.

Following the return of squad India, Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, also said that the squad will receive a financial prize of Rs 11 crore.
