but they are dependent on the weather gods.

After falling short by 12 runs in the first encounter of the three-match series, India is now down 0-1. Their issues became worse when the continuous drizzle caused the second game played here on Sunday to be abandoned midway through.

India hopes the rain does not play spoilsport in the final women’s Twenty20 International against South Africa on Tuesday. The team is desperate to level the three-match series after the second game washed out. They are also targeting a much-improved bowling effort. After falling short by 12 runs in the first encounter of the three-match series, India is now down 0-1. Their issues became worse when the continuous drizzle caused the second game played here on Sunday to be abandoned midway through. Additionally, with a forecast of 30 to 40 percent of rain on Tuesday, the Indians are at the mercy of the weather gods.

The Indian bowlers performed appallingly in both games as South Africa scored 189 for 9 and 177 for 6, respectively.

With the exception of spinner Deepti Sharma and bowler Pooja Vastrakar, who each took two wickets in both games, few Indian bowlers were particularly impressive against the Proteas women.

After giving up too many runs in the opening T20I match, Renuka Singh was substituted by Sajeevan Sajana; nevertheless, the latter did not help her situation either.

Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil each took a wicket on Sunday, but they both kept giving runs away.

With the series on the line, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur will want her bowlers to step up their game.

The Indians have played a respectable first game in terms of batting. Several players achieved double digit scores, including Jemimah Rodrigues (53 not out), Smriti Mandhana (46), Harmanpreet (35), Shafali Verma (18), and Daylan Hemalatha (14).

Sunday saw Uma Chetry make her T20I debut, and it’s likely that she will continue because Harmanpreet and the team management are interested in seeing her exploits at bat.

Tazmin Brits, who has scored back-to-back half-centuries, has led the attack for South Africa, who have, nevertheless, been incredibly reliable with the bat.

In addition to the British players, Marizanne Kapp, Anneke Bosch, and captain Laura Wolvaardt have all made batsmanship contributions for the visitors.

With 12 runs scored in each of the two games, Chloe Tryon is the only player that South Africa has cause for concern.

And trying to prove her critics wrong will be imperative for Tryon, especially with the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh coming up.
