Pandya emerged as one of India’s star players in the World Cup, capturing 11 wickets and hitting 144 runs with a strike rate of 150.
Hardik Pandya made a triumphant return to the city on Monday, with a legion of admirers waving the national flag and singing his name. Pandya’s fans organized a huge spectacle for him here, much like the Indian team’s open-top bus parade from Marine Drive to the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The ecstatic batsman, wearing the Team India jersey, waved to his fans and thanked their chants, as shown in a PTI video.
The open-top bus with the banner “Hardik Pandya – Pride of Vadodara” made its way through the streets, which were lined with grateful supporters and giant banners covering the whole length of the road.
