India lost its first ODI series against Sri Lanka in 27 years

At the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka defeated India by 110 runs in the third One-Day International to win the series for the first time in 27 years. The victory was ascribed to Sri Lanka’s tactical advantage at home, when they outplayed India by taking advantage of spinning conditions. The spinner from Sri Lanka was credited with winning the series 2-0.
