In the men’s javelin final, Neeraj Chopra placed second with a best throw of 89.45 meters. On Thursday, August 8, at the Games in Paris, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won gold with an Olympic record of 92.97 meters.

The men’s javelin Olympic gold was not enough for Neeraj Chopra, who attempted to reclaim it in the major final in Paris with the second-best throw of his career (89.45 meters). On Thursday, August 7, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold in track and field, its first gold medal ever in the Games, setting a new Olympic record of 92.97 meters. After making the only six-thousandth permitted throw, Neeraj Chopra expanded his collection of trophies with an Olympic silver. Notwithstanding the fact that it wasn’t his greatest day in the competition, he gave India its first silver medal at the Olympics in Paris. Only five Indian athletes have won multiple medals in the Olympics, including the Tokyo Olympic champion.

Anderson Peters of Grenada, a two-time world champion, won the bronze with a personal best of 88.54 meters, while Tokyo silver medallist Jakub Vadlejch, the winner of the Diamond Trophy, came in fourth. In the typically European-dominated men’s javelin event, Neeraj and Arshad made sure that India-Pakistan placed 1-2 on the Olympic podium for the first time ever. In the men’s javelin competition at the Olympics, it was also the first time a European removed themselves from the medal stand.

Neeraj Chopra won gold and Arshad Nadeem took home silver at the World Championships the previous year, hence the order of events was also reversed.Arshad Nadeem ultimately concluded his series with two throws over 90 meters, and he celebrated his medal with yet another incredible throw of 91.79 meters. With a stellar lineup of Olympic medalists, the men’s final was amazing. Five throwers exceeded Neeraj’s gold medal winning distance of 87.58 meters in Tokyo on a thrilling evening at Stade de France. On his debut, Neeraj Chopra was expected to finish eighth. The Indian fans at the arena cheered him loudly when he entered. Diamond Trophy winner Vadlejch failed to set the standard for the remainder of the day with his first throw of 80.15 meters, significantly below his personal best of 90.88 meters. Before making his debut, Arshad Nadeem was anxious. He felt the pull of the countdown timer and stopped his run-up. Arshad mishandled his first try.

It was the same with Neeraj Chopra. The Indian merely succeeded in cutting the foul line as he charged down.Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott of London set the early standard with a throw of 86.16 meters. But that would only get him to eighth place.

Arshad Nadeem then made the enchanted throw. Reaching an unprecedented distance in Olympic history with the javelin, he had the best arm speed in the field, reaching 110 km.

Arshad Nadeem defeated the field of athletes who had the best training facilities while he was pleading with the Pakistani government to assist in replacing an eight-year-old javelin that was deteriorating progressively in March of this year. Arshad broke the Olympic record by almost three meters. Back then, his villagers paid for him to travel to contests.Neeraj made every effort to match his adversary from Pakistan. But it appears that he asked a little too much of him since after his second throw, which ultimately resulted in a Silver, he was unable to record another valid attempt.

Yulius Yego, who won silver in the Rio Olympics, came in fifth place, and Julian Weber, who competed in his third Olympics, placed outside the top three once more. In Rio and Tokyo, he came in fourth place.

Anderson Peters, who had been battling injuries following an attack on a boat in his hometown soon after winning the gold medal at the 2022 World Championships, also found atonement in this event.
