The PCB stated that the challenging choice was made because of the continuing site construction in front of the ICC Champions Trophy early in the next year.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has made the decision to hold the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the National Stadium in Karachi under closed doors, recalling the COVID-19 era. Due to the venue’s ongoing construction in advance of the ICC Champions Trophy early in the following year, the PCB indicated that the difficult choice had been made. “Our players receive inspiration and drive from our fervent supporters, who we recognize as playing a crucial part in cricket. However, the board stated in a statement that “our top priority is the health and safety of our fans.

“After careful consideration of all available options, we have decided that the safest course of action is to hold the second Test in front of an empty stadium.” For the second Test, which is scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 3, ticket sales have been immediately suspended due to the board’s decision, it added.

“Fans who have already purchased tickets will receive a full refund automatically, with the amount credited to the account details provided at the time of purchase,” the board of directors stated.
“Our dedicated fans should know that the ongoing stadium modifications are intended to improve their experience, even though we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
