Sehrawat expressed his enthusiasm for the show after earning bronze in the men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling competition. Just days after the Paris Games ended, Sehrawat had the opportunity to meet ‘Jethalal’ (Dilip Joshi) from the performance. In the bronze medal match for men 57kg, Aman defeated Darian Cruz of Puerto Rico 13-5. In the semifinal, Aman had fallen to top-seeded Japanese fighter Rei Higuchi 0-10. At the age of 21 years and 24 days, he thereby created history by being the youngest Indian individual Olympic medallist ever.
“I want to express my gratitude to every person in the nation for their support during the Olympics in Paris. I was not able to bring home a gold medal for the nation, but the Olympics in Los Angeles are my next goal. I’ll do all in my power to have the medal’s color changed. “I will definitely bring back a gold medal the next time,” he said to IANS.
“I will work even harder and strive to make up for any shortcomings in this Olympics,” the wrestler stated.
In the four-year competition, Aman was the only wrestler from India who was a male. With eight Olympic medals, two silvers, and six bronzes won during his competitions, he has helped India become the second most successful sport in the history of the Games, after hockey.
