The Bengaluru squad has won both of its ties and is second in the table, trailing only leaders Ahmedabad SG Pipers, who have played one extra tie. In contrast, the Jaipur Patriots are fourth with a defeat and a win.
Niraj Bajaj and Vita Dani are promoting the franchise-based competition on behalf of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI). All of the exciting matches are broadcast on Sports18 Khel on TV and streamed live on JioCinema in India and Facebook Live outside of India. PBG Bengaluru Smashers have been dominant so far in UTT 2024, winning both ties, eight of the ten matches contested, and 21 of the 30 games played. The Bengaluru club, led by captain Alvaro Robles, is hoping to make the playoffs for the first time after narrowly missing out in their maiden season the previous year.
Aside from Robles, the PBG Bengaluru Smashers will most likely have star paddler Manika Batra, who defeated giant-slayer Ayhika Mukherjee in the previous tie, USA ace Lily Zhang, and the forceful Jeet Chandra.On the other side, the Jaipur Patriots enter the match after defeating U Mumba TT. The debutants have a balanced record, having won one tie out of two, five matches out of ten, and 15 out of 30 games played.
The Jaipur Patriots’ match against PBG Bengaluru Smashers is expected to pit South Korean paddler Cho Seung-min, who has shined so far, against Robles in a showcase match. Suthasini Sawettabut, Snehit SFR, and Nithyashree Mani have already made strong statements; the trio will try to expand on them in tie 3.
