Jay Shah will have to retire as ACC chairman after taking up the ICC role.
Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), created history by being named the next Chairman of the International Cricket Council. While conversations about Shah’s future on the Indian board heat up, the identity of his replacement as Asian Cricket Council president has been revealed. As Shah takes on the ICC position, he will have to relinquish not only the function of BCCI secretary but also the chairmanship of the ACC. According to reports, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi is leading the race to become the ACC’s new boss.
According to news agency PTI, Naqvi is slated to succeed Shah as the new ACC president, and the choice will be formally confirmed later this year.
“When the ACC meets later this year, it will confirm that Naqvi will be the next president for a two-year term,” according to the PTI informant. “When Jay Shah steps down, the PCB chief will take over.”Shah said, “I am humbled by the nomination as the Chair of the International Cricket Council,” following his unanimous election to the position of ICC president.
“In order to further globalize cricket, I’m determined to collaborate closely with the ICC team and our member countries. At this pivotal moment, it is more crucial than ever to encourage the adoption of cutting-edge technology, strike a balance between the coexistence of many forms, and expand the reach of our major events into new international markets. Our objective is to increase cricket’s appeal and inclusivity to an unprecedented degree.”

I am convinced that cricket will advance in previously unheard-of ways as a result of its inclusion in the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028. This marks a pivotal moment in the history of the sport.”
