On social media, a bogus report that Babar Azam was leaving Test cricket went viral.

The Pakistani star Babar Azam has been the focus of haters on social media due to his problems with the bat. A false statement claiming that the iconic batsman has decided to retire from Test cricket went viral on social media after his lackluster performance in the second Test against Bangladesh failed to boost his team’s spirits. Numerous supporters circulated fictitious farewell words from the Pakistani cricket player, leading many to conclude that the top-order hitter had indeed made the decision to retire from the game’s longest format.

Some of the messages also featured a false thumbprint on the retirement letter from Babar. Here’s what the retirement letters read, as shared by admirers on the Internet:
