England’s Joe Root extended his lead as the best batter in Test cricket, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam dropped out of the top ten in the ICC Test rankings released on Wednesday (September 4).
“Joe Root’s dream run with the bat has helped the England batter to an even bigger lead in the ICC Test Batter Rankings,” the International Cricket Council announced in a press release. Root’s consecutive tons in the Lord’s Test extended his lead at the top of the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings.
Babar Azam dropped to 12th place in the ICC Test Batting Rankings. Azam, who was previously rated ninth, has slid out of the top ten.
