Sarfaraz Khan, playing for India A, did not fare well at bat on the opening day of the Duleep Trophy 2024, but he did show his pleasure for his brother and teammate Musheer, who had struck a hard-fought century in Bengaluru. Musheer, playing for India B, achieved his century in his first-ever Duleep Trophy 2024 match. On Thursday, he reached his century off 205 balls, accounting for nearly half of the team’s total.
In the dressing room, Sarafaz Khan started the celebration by giving his younger brother a standing ovation. The entire India B support team joined in, congratulating Musheer on his outstanding hundred as well. The child’s third first-class hundred was this one.
He made a grand entrance with this inning and was Team B’s best player on the first day of the Duleep Trophy in 2024. While making a comeback to red-ball cricket, Rishabh Pant scored seven runs, while Sarfaraz only managed to score nine. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opener, was the other batsman with the second-highest total, scoring thirty runs against the India A pace trio of Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, and Akash Deep, who dominated the opening two sessions.
