The former star of India had participated in one ODI and four tests.

Just one month after being named the Kenya men’s head coach last month (August 12), former India and Karnataka bowler Dodda Ganesh has been removed of his responsibilities. Ganesh was signed to a one-year deal with the Kenya men’s squad. Ganesh played four Tests and one ODI for India. According to a story on nation.africa, Ganesh’s nomination was made in an improper manner, according to Cricket Kenya’s executive board. The other board members were represented by Pearlyne Omami, Director of Women’s Cricket at Cricket Kenya, who signed the letter. Kenya had advanced to the semifinals of the 2003 World Cup.

“Under a resolution of the executive board of Cricket Kenya passed on Wednesday, 28 August 2024, and anchored under inter alia Articles 5.9 and 8.4.3 of the Cricket Kenya Constitution, we wish to notify you that the executive board has declined to ratify your appointment as head coach of the men’s cricket national team for want of following established procedures,” according to the letter mentioned earlier.

“The supposed contract between Mr Manoj Patel and yourself on August 7, 2024 has been voided. Accordingly, Cricket Kenya is not and will not be bound by the aforementioned claimed contract.”You are consequently directed to halt all further contact or dealings with the men’s national cricket team with immediate effect. Any issues or disputes regarding this notification should be directed to Mr Manoj Patel and any other individuals who irregularly and unprocedurally engaged you in this matter,” it ended.

With Ganesh’s tenure coming to an end, former international players Lameck Onyango and Joseph Angara will take over as Kenya’s head coach and assistant coach, respectively. The duo’s first task will be to prepare Kenya’s team for the ICC Division 2 Challenge League, which will take place in Nairobi in September against Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Denmark, and Jersey.
