Indian cricket fans are overjoyed to see bowling all-arounder Shardul Thakur return to action following a successful procedure in London. After undergoing surgery on his ankle on June 12, Thakur has not played competitive cricket since.
Ahead of a demanding Test season that will see them play 10 Tests against three elite teams in the next four months, Shardul Thakur’s return is a major boost to India’s resources. The most recent one is the home Test series that begins in Chennai on September 19 against Bangladesh.
Following his return, Shardul Thakur played for Mumbai in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru against the KSCA Secretary’s XI. Despite his lackluster performance, he was sufficiently fit ahead of a demanding red-ball season.
